Every essay has a title! What is yours?…….
An essay looks like this…
Ways to start an INTRODUCTION;
- With a quote
- With a question
- With a definition
- With an attention grabber
- With a quick story (this is called an anecdote)
The Introduction lets the reader know what your essay is about. Your essay introduction will also have a MAIN IDEA (this is called the “thesis”)
Each paragraph has a topic sentence that says the main idea of your paragraph. It usually comes at the beginning of the paragraph, but does not have to. EVERY paragraph has a topic sentence. Every paragraph has at least one clear example to help the reader see your point.
The conclusion restates your MAIN IDEA and mentions the main points of each of your body paragraphs. It also adds something, maybe a personal idea or a clever thought. A conclusion somehow connects with the introduction.
