How does this make you feel?
How about this?
What's going on here?
What's the message?
And this. Look at it carefully.
Please follow this link to Ms. nancy’s class website. The latest post is called “Untangling propaganda”. Follow the directions closely…
- Name-calling and glittering generalities
- plain folks appeal
- emotional appeal
- faulty cause and effect
- deceptive facts and figures
Groups are responsible for finding actual examples of the following from the real world. Youtube is a great place to start. The internet is your best friend with this. The goal is to present these to the class on MONDAY the 27th. When showing the examples you find, please be able to discuss/explain how the pieces of media you’ve chosen are good examples of your group’s techniques. You will need to have your information on your home drive or a USB so you can access it quickly
1= Name calling, glittering generalities, testimonial, bandwagon, emotional appeal (heartstrings)
2= euphemisms, humor, fear, faulty cause and effect
3 = transference, plain folks appeal, repetition, deceptive facts and figures
