In this essay I will talk about construction. The romans were probably the best buildrs of that time. When you look at Roman ruins, you can really tell how good they were at the construction. First of all They made the arch a big part of their architecture. The arch was smart because, it distributed there weight evenly. So, you could have heavy bridges and buildings and stuff and you don’t need alot of extra concrete.
The aqueduct was pioneered by them. It carried water so you could take baths and have stuff to drink and clean. They built them for miles long and you can still see parts of it today if you go to where they are, which is mostly in Italy where rome was and the civilization. Actually, they have it in France too.
The last thing big thing they did was the Coliseum. A lot of history books talk about The Coliseum. If you look at one, they look like a big empty arena that is falling apart. I’m talking about the one in Rome not the small ones. But when it was new and very beautiful. It could hold, like, thousands of people and animals and stuff. Chariots. They even had gladiators that did fights to the death in it. WOW! There is even a movie called “Gladiator”. The Romans even used the arch in the design of the Coliseum like aqueducts.
Arches, aqueducts and the Coliseum (I am talking about the one in Rome) were some big things, they did.
