I received a notice about a contest being sponsored by Reader’s Digest in Singapore, as a tie-in to the 2010 Youth Olympics that will be held there.
“Readers Digest is delighted to invite students to participate in an Asia – wide English short story writing competition. This competition is organised in conjunction with the National Library Board of Singapore in celebration of Singapore hosting the 2010 Youth Olympic Games. The competition is titled “Dare to Dream: Stories of imagination, passion and sporting excellence”.
Students can write a short story (fiction or non-fiction) in English, describing the nature of individual love and passion for sport(s), including values such as friendship, perseverance, honesty, leadership, fair play, hard work…traits that exist in the realm of sports.
We invite students currently in school in Asia and born between 1992 -1996 to submit an entry consisting of between 500 and 800 words.“
The top winners will get trip to Singapore to see the games! You should enter this! Seriously! Here is a link to an entry form
Also, you can get handouts and paper forms from Wilson304. Take advantage of this opportunity, especially if you love sports and want to share your reasons why.
